Rustic Wall Faux Finish in Madison, Alabama

We had the opportunity to create a custom wall finish for a wonderful client in Madison, AL recently. We used multiple layers Golden's Rough Irregular texture and various colors of glaze to give a rustic feel to the room. See the before and after below!

ARTISTS BRUSH UP ON BUSINESS SKILLS

Huntsville, AL- North Alabama artists are invited to brush up on their business skills at the "Art of Business" workshops in the Von Braun South Hall Banquet Rooms Sunday, March 15, 10:00am - 1:00 pm. Individual sessions will focus on Photographing Art, Computer Basics-Web Site Development and Photoshop, and Art Business Basics-Office Control, Marketing, Legal Issues and Selling.

Sessions will be taught by Alabama experts. Gina Hurst (Art Consultant) and Alissa Ramsay (Average to Art) will team up to present Business Basics. Their program will be broad-based and focused on practical approaches to business necessities that allow artists to maximize both studio time and public exposure.

Walter Schumacher (former President of the Huntsville Art League) will tackle Computer Basics. He will address the fundamental issues involved in obtaining a web presence and offer an initial exposure to Photoshop software.

Maria Spies, from Mobile, will present Photographing Artwork with an emphasis on using digital cameras and lighting available to most young professional and amateur artists. Maria has offered her practical approach to Photographing Artwork nationwide.

The Business of Art Workshops will be held in the Huntsville Von Braun Center, South Hall Banquet Rooms on Sunday March 15, 10:00-1:00pm. Admission fee is $20.00, payable at the door. Additional information at alclayconference.org.

ART AND CONSTRUCTION MEET AT "ARTISTIC INTERSECTION"

Huntsville, AL- Discover how to incorporate exceptional artistic detailing into construction projects ranging from residential remodeling to commercial real estate.

This event will feature area experts in architecture, design and construction, providing practical information on how to find, price and work with area artists on construction projects of all sizes.
The panel will be moderated by Toni Sikes, founder and publisher of the Guild Sourcebooks for Architects and Designers and the Artful Home catalog and web site. The panel will feature Huntsville area experts; Frank Nola, architect and principal with SKT Architects; Beverly Farrington, Interior Designer and owner of Accents of the South and Anders Andelfang, owner of ARC Design/Build. Angelica Pozo, ceramic artist with over twenty public commissions to her credit and a presenter at the Alabama Clay Conference will complete the panel.

The Artistic Intersection Panel will feature visual presentations of projects completed by panel members in order to stimulate enthusiasm for incorporating artistic creativity in construction projects. It will follow with a practical discussion of how to best handle this type of creative team approach; from pricing, to project control.
